Oh, well...

Tue Jul 17, 2007, 11:34 PM
In case you can't tell, all the Al Rio stuff has been gone a while. Also the Louis Small, as of this week.

I may just stop asking people...

Hi, I'm an art thief.

Sat Jun 9, 2007, 6:24 PM
I just read an angry little text on dA about art thieves, which includes me, apparently, since I didn't ask permission of Al Rio & Alex Miranda before displaying colored versions of their stuff.

(Not to mention the whole Katie Fey thing, which I knew was a bad idea from go. On the art calendars, I did contact Voz, though, & I guess I'll track down Artis [see update below!] & Small...)

Well, I guess I was going to display them here & then contact Al, since, actually, I would like to display the "girl on dino" & the golden medusa on his site; & then I... chickened out.

When I did those colored pencils, most of them weren't really meant to display, & I just did it to develop my ability. But then I dropped it, & I haven't done much hand coloring in a while.

I just hate having the gallery be empty. OK?

Update: Apparently I can't contact Tom Artis as he's just recently dead. His family would appreciate any financial assistance you can give them. [link] [link]

'07, June 1st

I had an idea for some character designs & I thought I might get a good chunk done over Memorial Day weekend. Well, I didn't. I hadn't drawn in years, & I just found other less creative things to do. I did draw the first one, but I'm having to relearn how to draw.

And I don't think I ever knew how to draw feet.

I may be starting a manufacturing job this month, whoo :(

Maybe it's just as well, I don't seem to have the discipline to sit & write or do art...

What do you think of the new calendar design? [link]
I don't really want to waste something this cool on the Katie Fey stuff, I'd rather put it on something I have an actual license for.

Calendar anxiety

Wed May 23, 2007, 11:01 PM
I got the account basically so I could look at stuff, but just having an empty folder seemed weak, so I decided maybe it was OK to put up some of my color work (I don't really have much patience for drawing, don't remember when I last drew).

Then it occured to me that I could put up my designy stuff, namely the calendar form I've been sporadically playing around with. (The template & process is my own development.) So I did.

And then it occurred to me. I don't have days of the week marked, & I should maybe do alternate versions with European layout (lunes á domingo). So now I'm thinking, "I need to tweak those, & the June Katie Fey I'd have to redo, since I didn't save a PSD file, &..."

So here's the deal. If somebody wants me to design a calendar for them, leave a note somewhere on my page, & we'll work something out. If somebody wants me to contribute some design work (such as my design work is) to art they own, & we can possibly sell prints on some kind of cooperative deal, even finer.

But if I'm just doing this on my own, with no feedback, I make no promises how long it'll take or how much will get done.

---

This is bugging me:

Just in case it isn't clear, everything I've put up so far was fan color or design/customization over someone else's art. So if you're that impressed by my colors, thanks, but, really, if people are comparing me to Frazetta & Manara, I feel I have to give credit to the pencilers whom I was coloring.

Online communities map on xkcd

I just saw this on xkcd: [link]
It's a metaphorical map of onine communities. I don't have anything brilliant to say about it, I just like it.
